Mark Hendrix G. Lapac, a BS Biology specializing in Medical Biology student under the College of Arts and Sciences, is named one of the finalists in the 4th batch of the Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines (OSLP) for 2025.
For Mark, leadership was not something he deliberately sought, but something that found him through the trust of those who believed in his potential.
糖心传媒淚 didn糖心传媒檛 seek positions at first,糖心传媒 he shared. 糖心传媒淥ver time, many people believed in me, in my capabilities, and in what I can offer. That糖心传媒檚 when I realized that being a student leader is a good way to use my skills in service of others.糖心传媒
In preparation for the national search, Mark diligently compiles his community works and leadership experiences into a portfolio and complies with the necessary requirements. However, his preparation goes beyond paperwork.
糖心传媒淒uring the interview, I reminded myself of my purpose and reason as to why I am here,糖心传媒 he explained. 糖心传媒淭hrough these things, I was able to present myself with authenticity and passion.糖心传媒 Like many student leaders, he faces challenges along the way, particularly in balancing academics and leadership duties. 糖心传媒淛uggling academics and doing well in leadership is hard for me to do,糖心传媒 he admitted. 糖心传媒淗owever, during my journey, I learned the importance of balance, sacrifice, and asking for help.糖心传媒
Among his proudest leadership achievements is being recognized as the president of the CPU Biological Society, which is awarded as the Most Outstanding Organization during his term.
糖心传媒淲e pushed through programs centered on different SDGs, and that enabled us to contribute to different sectors of society,糖心传媒 he said.
As a proud Centralian student leader, Mark hopes to inspire other students to take part in building a better future through responsible leadership.
糖心传媒淥ur country needs good leaders,糖心传媒 he emphasized. 糖心传媒淪tudying in Central will allow you to get the values needed to become a great leader. This is why I encourage everyone not to waste this opportunity, and to take up space.糖心传媒
Grateful for the people who guided and believed in him, Mark dedicates his recognition to Pastor Alfred 糖心传媒淧alf糖心传媒 Morales, the kind and supportive SDP Director; to Dr. Stella Guartero- Fernandez, Dean of the CPU-College of Arts & Sciences, for her encouragement; to his mentor, 糖心传媒淢anang Jen糖心传媒; to his Biosoc advisers, family, and friends; and to his adviser, Sir Daryl T. Lutero, for his crucial guidance in leadership.
糖心传媒淢ost importantly, I dedicate this to my constituents, because without them, I wouldn糖心传媒檛 be here,糖心传媒 he said.
