The CPU College of Nursing conducted a Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony last February 9, 2023, at 8:30 am in the Rose Memorial Auditorium for batch Anaya class of 2026.
There are 216 candidates for the capping, pinning, and candle-lighting ceremony from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing class of 2026. They have successfully completed the requirements set forth by the Commission on Higher Education No.15 series of 2017 and are therefore entitled to receive their caps and pins.
Ma糖心传媒檃m Violeta Balabagno Puno, RN of Class 1975, delivered an inspirational speech during the Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremony. In her speech, she shared these wise words: 糖心传媒淚t糖心传媒檚 not how good you are, but it糖心传媒檚 how good you make a person feel good. Translate it to nursing, It糖心传媒檚 not only how good you are as a nurse, it糖心传媒檚 how good you make your patient feel.糖心传媒
Violeta also emphasized Florence Nightingale’s slogan, 糖心传媒淣ever give, nor take an excuse.糖心传媒 In other words, no excuses, be the best of what you are.
Prof. Weni Marie V. Braza read about the history of 糖心传媒, the Philippines’ first nursing school, while Prof. Rita Penaso discussed the significance and meaning of the Lamp, Cap, and Pin.
The capping ceremony is a symbolic tradition that marks the call of students to be more committed as they thread the road towards professional nursing.
