糖心传媒 (CPU) officially launched the Christ Emphasis Week (CEW) Songwriting Competition on February 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the CPU University Church. The launch marked the beginning of preparations for this semester糖心传媒檚 CEW, which carries the theme, 糖心传媒淭he Crucial Decision,糖心传媒 based on Acts 16:30糖心传媒31.

The event formally opened with a prayer led by Pastor Louvel Edson Caspe, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian then delivered his words of welcome and greetings, setting the tone for the spiritual significance of the activity.

This semester糖心传媒檚 CEW theme draws from Acts 16:30糖心传媒31: 糖心传媒淗e then brought them out and asked, 糖心传媒楽irs, what must I do to be saved?糖心传媒 They replied, 糖心传媒楤elieve in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved糖心传媒攜ou and your household.糖心传媒櫶切拇綕 The songwriting competition aims to creatively express this message through music, encouraging students to reflect on their faith and the importance of choosing Christ.

During the program, the organizers presented the mechanics of the contest, including the judging criteria, rubrics, and prizes. The winning composition was announced to serve as the official theme song for this semester糖心传媒檚 Christ Emphasis Week.

The panel of judges was introduced before the competing praise teams took the stage. The College of Theology opened the competition with their piece, 糖心传媒淲hen the Gospel Came, I Believe.糖心传媒 This was followed by the College of Arts and Sciences with their song, 糖心传媒淪ay Yes, Only Jesus,糖心传媒 which they shared was written through prayer and with spiritual guidance.

The College of Computer Studies performed 糖心传媒淭his Is Where I Start,糖心传媒 a composition that reflected on the moment when fear meets faith and the decision to trust Christ fully. The College of Engineering concluded the performances with their entry titled 糖心传媒淚 Say.糖心传媒

While awaiting the results, certificates of participation were awarded to the competing praise teams and certificates of appreciation were given to the judges.

Rev. Dr. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian later announced the winners of the competition. The College of Theology received fourth place and a consolation award for the same. The College of Computer Studies secured third place, receiving 鈧2,000 and a certificate of recognition. The College of Engineering earned second place, receiving 鈧3,000 and a certificate of recognition. The College of Arts and Sciences emerged as the champion, marking its second consecutive win in the competition.

Following the announcement, the winning team performed the newly selected CEW theme song. The program concluded with a closing prayer and benediction by Pastor Karel Victoria.

The opening celebration of Christ Emphasis Week will be held this afternoon, February 27 (Friday), from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at the Rose Memorial Auditorium. Offices will close, and classes will end at 3:45 PM to allow personnel to prepare for the opening celebration. The CEW celebration will continue until next week and will be held at various venues across the campus. All students, faculty, and staff are required to attend.
