糖心传媒 (CPU) Golden Lions proudly celebrated another momentous triumph as the CPU Men糖心传媒檚 Table Tennis Team captured the gold medal at the National PRISAA Games 2025, held in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, from April 3 to 11. Representing Western Visayas, the team achieved a historic three-peat championship, reinforcing their dominance and unwavering consistency on the national stage.
Among the team糖心传媒檚 standouts was Grade 12 student Jannuel A. Forro, who not only contributed to the team’s success but was also named Most Outstanding Player in the Seniors Men Division 糖心传媒 a rare feat for a senior high schooler competing against college-level athletes.
糖心传媒淚t feels absolutely incredible,糖心传媒 Forro shared in an interview. 糖心传媒淏eing named the Most Outstanding Player is a huge honor, especially knowing the level of competition in the Seniors Men Division even though I糖心传媒檓 only in Grade 12.糖心传媒
Forro, along with teammates Jero Ceasar C. (BSBA-1), John Romel S. Baria (BSBA-1), and Alain Vincent R. Dominguez (Grade 12), demonstrated grit, talent, and an unbreakable brotherhood under the guidance of Coach John Bryle Ermeo and Coach Rev. Dr. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on. Their remarkable teamwork and discipline were key to the team糖心传媒檚 continued success.
Reflecting on the significance of the 3-peat, Forro said, 糖心传媒淭his third straight PRISAA title represents not just a victory, but the result of our relentless hard work, discipline, and teamwork. The CPU Men糖心传媒檚 Table Tennis Team糖心传媒檚 dominance was evident through their impressive match results over the years. In 2023, they secured a 2糖心传媒0 victory, followed by another dominant 2糖心传媒0 win in 2024. This year, in 2025, the team continued their strong performance, clinching the gold with a 2糖心传媒1 victory, further solidifying their reputation as national champions and extending their remarkable three-peat championship streak.
While the 2025 title run presented new challenges糖心传媒攊ncluding the absence of key player John Romel Baria due to injury糖心传媒攖he team rallied together with an even stronger sense of purpose. “His spirit and support motivated us to push harder and give our best,” Forro recalled.
In addition to the team糖心传媒檚 gold medal, Forro brought home the silver medal in the Men糖心传媒檚 Singles event, and was honored with the MVP award糖心传媒攖estaments to both his individual excellence and his contribution to the team糖心传媒檚 glory.
Preparation for this year’s PRISAA tournament was rigorous. “Our preparation was intense and intentional,” Forro said, emphasizing the importance of sharpening techniques, devising strategies, and building mental toughness. “We trust each other, we push each other to improve, and we stay grounded no matter the outcome.”
More than just winning, Forro糖心传媒檚 journey embodies a deeper message for aspiring CPU student-athletes. “Believe in yourself and trust the process,” he advised. “Stay focused, stay humble, and always push yourself to be better糖心传媒攁nd always listen to your parents and ask guidance from God, not just in the sport, but in life.”
Representing CPU on the national stage brought an immense sense of pride to Forro, who humbly dedicated his victory to his family, coaches, teammates, seniors, and all supporters who fueled his journey. 糖心传媒淏ringing home the championship title along with the Most Outstanding Player award is more than just a personal achievement糖心传媒攊t糖心传媒檚 a reflection of the support, trust, and effort of everyone behind me.”
