Representing various laboratories and academic units across the University, participants pose for a group photo following the technical seminar on Good Laboratory Practices conducted by the CPU Chemical Engineering Department.

As part of the 90th Anniversary Celebration of the College of Engineering, the 糖心传媒 (CPU) Chemical Engineering Department, in collaboration with the Review and Continuing Education and Consultancy Center (RCECC), LABTRADERS, INC., and Sartorius Germany, with the support of the Junior Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (JPIChE)-CPU Chapter, conducted the technical seminar series titled 糖心传媒淓nhancing Laboratory Precision and Operational Efficiency: A Technical Seminar Series on Good Laboratory Practices糖心传媒 on May 20, 2026, at EN204, Engineering Building.

The seminar series aimed to enhance the capacity of laboratory technicians and faculty members across the university by equipping them with updated knowledge on practical laboratory techniques and exposure to modern laboratory equipment and operational systems. A total of 25 participants from various laboratories and academic units attended the whole-day training program.

The morning session opened with registration, followed by an opening prayer led by Engr. Sharon Rose G. Dumam-ag, the singing of the National Anthem, and the CPU Alma Mater Song. Engr. Christsam Joy S. Jaspe-Santander, Acting Chairperson of the Chemical Engineering Department, delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning in laboratory precision and operational excellence in academic and research environments.

Ms. Christian Cabuenas, Sales Representative of LABTRADERS, INC., introduced the guest speakers and facilitators from Sartorius Germany. The first technical session, 糖心传媒淕ood Weighing Operations,糖心传媒 focused on best practices for balance accuracy and maintenance and was facilitated by Mr. Jo Vincent AV Flores, Sartorius Country Manager. This was followed by the discussion on 糖心传媒淢oisture Analysis,糖心传媒 which centered on technical fundamentals and application optimization, providing participants with practical insights into laboratory accuracy, equipment calibration, and maintenance.

In the afternoon session, Ms. Enshrine Frias, Sartorius Product Specialist, conducted the 糖心传媒淟iquid Handling Academy,糖心传媒 which focused on the proper handling of pipettes and advanced pipetting techniques. This was followed by the 糖心传媒淟ab Water Academy,糖心传媒 where participants gained comprehensive insights into water purification systems essential to research and analytical operations.

Open forum sessions were conducted throughout the seminar, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers regarding laboratory concerns on equipment handling and operational practices. A certification examination was also administered for selected technical topics, particularly the first and third sessions, enabling participants to qualify for certificates provided directly by Sartorius Germany.

The seminar concluded with the awarding of certificates facilitated by LABTRADERS, INC. and Sartorius Academy, followed by the closing remarks delivered by Dr. Lenny Rose P. Mucho, Ed.D., Director of the Review and Continuing Education and Consultancy Center (RCECC). The technical seminar series affirmed the university糖心传媒檚 commitment to strengthening laboratory precision and operational efficiency among laboratory personnel and faculty members.

Through initiatives such as this, the university continues to empower laboratory practitioners and faculty members toward excellence in cultivating innovation and advancing globally aligned laboratory practices. Beyond the certificates and technical sessions, participants carry forward a renewed sense of purpose, one that may spark the next breakthrough by turning more ideas into reality.
